Protests Are Spreading to Other Cities

@donlemon You can expect this to happen all across the country #protests #trump ♬ original sound – Don Lemon

Note that this footage was of a protest in NYC on June 10th.

As of June 11th, Texas has also activated its National Guard in response to protests around the state. It’s clear that the Trump Administration is exaggerating the situation to continue escalating force against citizens.

U.S. Government in Disarray, Botching Deployment of Soldiers in LA 📰

New post from Ken Klippenstein ✉

The U.S. military’s response to protests in Los Angeles has been marked by missteps, including the Pentagon misidentifying a brigade in its own public photos, partisan and inappropriate social media posts, and staged photo ops.

Los Angeles Anti-ICE Protests Continue Through Third Day

Amid the ongoing escalation in Los Angeles, I’m going to try to collect protest resources and updates on LA and post them here. Here’s some highlighted facts from the situation from over the weekend:

  • Protests began initially on June 6th in response to ICE raids effectively kidnapping workers from a fashion warehouse and several other locations. At least 45 people were detained into unmarked vehicles by agents wearing mismatched uniforms and masks. A play by play breakdown can be read here.
  • Local police and sheriff departments denied involvement in the enforcement actions. A crowd has attempted to keep federal agents inside a federal building in downtown LA.
  • Donald Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard soldiers to purposefully inflame the situation, overriding both the LA Mayor and Governor Newsom to do so. Basically, a deployment without the state’s approval. As of late Sunday, Newsom has called for the deployment order to be rescinded.
  • Black Hawk helicopters were seen landing in LA streets with the national guard unloading boxes of ammunition.
  • Social media videos have shown an escalating situation with rubber bullets being fired at protesters and the deployment of tear gas. One ICE truck was caught hitting a protestor and fleeing the scene from a news helicopter.
  • The news has been both highlighting how generally peaceful the majority of the crowds have been while downplaying the effectiveness of protestors engaged in damaging government property (and condemning them).

Here’s another breakdown on what’s going on.

I’ll use the RebelAuthor bot to relay appropriate and informational news updates here. There’s a lot of other sources already reporting on the news here, we’ll just try to sift through it to get to the most important information.
